I Am Made Of Argh...

First off was the third day in a row of a stealth migraine hitting me in the night.  This one was particularly icky, as it didn't hurt nearly as much as it made me weak and nauseous, so I really didn't notice it until I had to try to get up and move around.  Clearly, I'm in a migraine cycle.  Hopefully it won't last much longer.

The second matter was in relation to my last post, the one about not being able to find things.  In this case, it was a couple of stray comics I realized I hadn't read when they came out.  Now, I'm not one of those funnybook guys who reads and boxes his stuff; I tend to accumulate several months of stuff and just let it stack up.  So when I couldn't find something in the stacks from the past two or three months, that meant something was wrong.

Have I mentioned how much I HATE not being able to find something.

It didn't help that I could have sworn that I'd tripped over one of the books just a day or two earlier and set it aside to read.

So, this afternoon, I resolved to alphabetize and re-stack all of the books, in an attempt to find the lost sheep.  It was only after I had all my stacks strewn about the floor (having still not found the missing comics) that Jane asked if we could go get some dinner.  On a whim, while getting my sunglasses out of her car, I decided to check the map holder in the door for comics, since I've sometimes been known to leave some there.  Lo and behold...

A half dozen books I'd taken to San Antonio for Dad's memorial and promptly forgotten on the return trip.  Including the one I sword I'd set aside just two days prior.

This evening, while making my nightly rounds to check doors and turn off lights, I found the other missing book sitting on one of our downstairs bookshelves.

On the plus side, my books are alphabetized now.  And I can catch up on the intended reading.

Tomorrow, I'm going to go buy some short boxes.
